Gr. Cohen et al., ANTENATAL SONOGRAPHIC DIAGNOSIS OF BALLER-GEROLD SYNDROME AND REVIEW OF RADIAL DYSPLASIA AND UPPER EXTREMITY REDUCTION DEFECTS - A CASE-REPORT, Journal of maternal-fetal investigation, 6(3), 1996, pp. 179-181
Unilateral limb anomalies can present as both logitudinal or transvers
e deficits. The occurrence of a limb anomaly may signal mechanical dis
ruption of the developing limb, or may be part of a larger, more serio
us problem. The antenatal and differential diagnosis of unilateral lim
b reduction defects is important because of the potential effect these
disorders may have on mode of delivery and long term outcome of the c
hild. This case illustrates the antenatal diagnosis of Baller-Gerold S
yndrome and a review of unilateral limb reduction defects.
