Abstract
The glow discharge may be powered by direct current (de), radio freque ncy (rf) and pulsed discharge sources. Each has specific advantages an d special features that should be considered by analysts using the var ious forms of glow discharge spectroscopy. This paper reviews some of the factors that contribute to the selection of a power source for the glow discharge.
