Abstract
The nonlinear synthetic aperture focusing technique (NL-SAFT) proposed by the authors in previous publications is investigated; their method is a modification of SAFT with nonlinear sensitivity to inhomogeneiti es having different zones of visibility. The characteristics of the me thod for reconstructing acoustic images of inhomogeneities in the pres ence of noise is discussed.
