Abstract
We demonstrate that in a subcarrier multiplexed optical transmission s ystem the BER induced by laser clipping is strongly dependent on the f requency location of the digital channel. Our analysis shows that the variation in the BER with channel frequency can be predicted by taking into account the turn-on delay of the laser diode.
