V. Biro, STABILITY OF EXTREME SELECTIONS OF CHILDREN IN EXPRESSIONS OF ACTIVATION - SEARCHING FOR A DOMINANT SYSTEM OF AUTONOMOUS RESPONSES, Studia psychologica, 38(1-2), 1996, pp. 55-62
This work presents the results of a study with two extreme groups of c
hildren. Measurements were taken three times - eight and twelve months
apart. While the group marked as EG manifests an increased activity o
f the cardiovascular system prior and after a sensorymotor load, the P
IG group has relatively low values but it consistently responds with h
igh electrodermal activity. The extreme groups are formed on the basis
of orientational GSR latency. It is interesting that almost all the c
hildren from the PIG group live in an area polluted by industrial neur
otoxins. This fact is also discussed.
