T. Kluge et H. Knoll, INFLUENCE OF REDOX-INERT COUNTERIONS ON PHOTOINDUCED ELECTRON-TRANSFER PROCESSES IN WATER-IN-OIL MICROEMULSIONS WITH LOW WATER-CONTENT, Journal of information recording, 23(1-2), 1996, pp. 175-179
The influence of redox-inert counterions on the quenching of {Ru(bpy)
(3)(2+),(X(-))(2)} contact ion- pairs by methylviologen has been studi
ed in non-ionic water-in-oil microemulsions with low water content by
means of stationary and time-resolved fluorescence measurements. In th
e less polar hydrated shell region the quenching was faster for bromid
e as a counterion than for chloride, whereas in the more polar water p
ool region the quenching for X = Cl was faster than for X = Br. This i
s in agreement with results, obtained in homogeneous solvents.
