Liquid culture-produced entomopathogenic nematodes, Heterorhabditis me
gidis and Heterorhabditis bacteriophora, Mere applied at 0.5 and 1.5 m
illion dauer juveniles m(-2) against Aphodius contaminatus and Phyllop
ertha horticola on a golf course. The reduction of A. contaminatus was
found to be between 40 and 62%. P. horticola reduction reached 70% wi
th H. megidis and 83% with H. bacteriophora. Turf damage caused by bir
ds preying on the grubs was successfully prevented.
