Bn. Das, PHOTOCONDUCTIVE DECAY CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SURFACE OF SINTERED CADMIUM-SULFIDE PELLET - A METHOD OF ANALYSIS, Indian Journal of Pure & Applied Physics, 34(8), 1996, pp. 586-588
Surface photoconductive decay of sintered CdS pellet at room temperatu
re (300 K) and above (up to 450 K) has been studied. No photoconductiv
ity could be found above 450 K. A method of estimating the relaxation
times and recombination barrier heights from the decay curves at vario
us temperatures has been proposed. Analysis reveals the existence of t
hree different recombination barriers of heights 0.05, 0.08 and 0.10 e
V, which ale responsible for the slow relaxation phenomena in sintered
CdS surface. Relaxation times of the non-equilibrium carriers were fo
und to decrease with the rise of temperature.
