TiO2 porous films have been prepared through thermal treatment of gels
synthesized by hydrolysis-condensation of tetraethyl orthotitanate. T
he structural and textural modifications induced by polymerization at
room temperature and by thermal treatment al temperatures between 100
and 700 degrees C have been detected using DTA/TGA, XRD, IR spectrosco
py, TEM, specific surface, pore volume and pore size measurements. Uti
lization of sol-gel method allows the obtaining of films with preselec
ted properties, which can be used in preparation of ceramic membranes,
suitable in specific separation processes.
