Ring-opening copolymerization of cyclopentene, cyclooctene, cyclooctad
iene and cyclododecene in all possible alternatives was investigated i
n order to get additional information on cycloolefines reactivity agai
nst the same comonomer, as well as the determination of the modality i
n which reciprocal presence of cycloolefines influences the kinetics o
f the copolymerization process and the copolymers composition. The exp
eriments led to the conclusion that the cyclooctene reactivity in copo
lymerization reactions is higher than in a homopolymerization process.
The reactivity ratios certify a high reactivity for cyclopentene and
cyclooctadiene regardless of the copolymerization system.
