Abstract
Deficits of higher mental functions following diseases of the brain an d trauma have significant effects upon daily living. They are prime ta rgets of neurological rehabilitation. Goals and strategies of their re habilitation depend upon the type of deficit, individual capacities fo r compensation and the psychosocial context. Problems and methods of a cute phase, postacute and chronic phase rehabilitation are described a nd exemplified.
