R. Biswas et al., TRIPLE DIFFERENTIAL CROSS-SECTIONS FOR ELECTRON-IMPACT IONIZATION OF ALKALI LIKE ION MG+, Chemical physics letters, 263(3-4), 1996, pp. 495-498
Triple differential cross sections (TDCS) of alkali-like ion Mg+ in it
s ground state are studied theoretically by fast electron impact for c
oplanar asymmetric geometry, using the correlated three Coulomb wavefu
nction for the final state which satisfies the asymptotic three body b
oundary condition. The long range Coulomb attraction is also taken int
o account in the initial channel. The Mg+ ion is treated in a model po
tential approach. The main feature noticed in the TDCS curve is the pr
esence or an intense recoil peak for lower incident energies even larg
er than the binary one. Secondary structures are found in both binary
and recoil regions.
