By high-resolution H-1 NMR and P-31 NMR, interactions between titanoce
ne dichloride and 5'-AMP, 5'-TMP, 5'-AMP/5'-TMP have been investigated
. The results suggest that titanocene dichloride disrupts Watson-Crick
base pairing. On the basis of the NMR data, a new mechanism of antitu
mor activity of titanocene dichloride is proposed.
