Abstract
The paper addresses thermal impacts on strength casing used in geother mal wells. Temperature stress is likely to cause casing damage, but ce ment casing destruction in such wells cannot be explained by action of steady-state heat fields. Temperature stress should be accounted for while selection of casing for these applications.
