We show that at intermediate temperatures oscillatory magnetoresistanc
e of the quasi-two dimensional electron System can be dominated by mag
netointersubband scattering (MIS). The longitudinal resistance in high
carrier concentration Al0.3Ga0.7As/GaAs heterojunctions and pseudomor
phic Al0.3Ga0.7As/In0.1Ga0.9As/GaAs quantum wells exhibits magnetoresi
stance oscillations with Fundamental fields significantly different fr
om the Shubnikov-de Haas and magnetophonon resonance fundamental field
s. The subband spacing can be calculated from the measured MIS fundame
ntal field, and good agreement is found between measured and calculate
d subband spacings.
