Expression of response to high cultivation temperature (HCT) was studi
ed in spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) grown in a climate chamber. I
t was shown that response to HCT developed during formation of the gen
erative sphere. Response to HCT was neutral in 34 cultivars and slight
ly negative in 49 cultivars. Analysis of three crosses, involving thre
e barley cultivars, showed that absence of response to HCT was control
led by the dominant allele of the Tmp l gene and presence of response,
by the recessive alleles tmp l'and tmp l ''.
