Abstract
It is shown that in vitro infection of human peripheral blood lymphocy tes by mycoplasmas (Acholeplasma laid-lawii PG8 and Mycoplasma hominis PG21) leads to multiple chromosome aberrations, predominantly to chro matid gaps and breaks. Oxidative stress in the infected cells is regar ded as one of the factors causing chromosome damage.
