Abstract
Two species of boopiid lice arerecorded from a wild brushtailed rock w allaby (Petrogale penicillata penicillata (Gray, 1825)) from Kawau Isl and, New Zealand. They are Heterodoxus ampullatus Keler, 1971 and Boop ia notafusca Le Souef, 1902. These are the first identified records of marsupial lice from New Zealand, and P. penicillata penicillata is a new host record for B. notafusca. This new host record is discussed an d evaluated.
