Hg. Ang et al., REACTIONS OF (F3CP)(4) AND (F3CP)(5) WITH RUTHENIUM AND OSMIUM CARBONYL CLUSTERS - CHARACTERIZATION AND CRYSTAL-STRUCTURES OF THE PRODUCTS, Journal of the Chemical Society. Dalton transactions, (14), 1996, pp. 3131-3138
The reactions of tetrameric (F3CP)(4) and pentameric (F3CP)(5) with [O
s-3(CO)(11)(MeCN)] gave [(OC)(11)Os-3-(mu-PHCF3)Os-3(CO)(11)(mu-H)] 1
while the reaction with [Os-3(mu-H)(2)(CO)(10)] led to the formation o
f [Os-3(mu-H)-(mu-PHCF3)(CO)(10)] 2 and (mu-H)(2)Os-3(mu(4)-F3CPPCF3)O
s-3(mu-H)(2)(CO)(9)] 3. Pyrolysis of (F3CP)(4) with [Os-3(CO)(12)] at
209 degrees C, resulted in cleavage of the triosmium parent cluster to
afford [Os-4(CO)(13)(mu(3)-PCF3)(2)] 4. When the cyclophosphanes reac
ted with [Ru-3(CO)(12)] in 1:1 and 1:2 molar ratio, [{Ru(CO)(3)(mu(3)-
PCF3)}(4)] 5 and [Ru-5(CO)(15)(mu(4)-PCF3)] 6 were obtained respective
ly. The complex [Ru-4(CO)(14)(mu(4)-PCF3)] 7 was obtained when the rea
ction between [Ru-3(CO)(12)] and (F3CP)(n) (n=4 or 5) was carried out
at 80 degrees C. However, when [Ru4H(CO)(12)] was treated with the cyc
lophosphanes the novel molecule [Ru-4(mu-H)(2)(CO)(12)(mu-PCF3)-(mu(3)
-PCF3)(2)] 8 was obtained. The crystal structures of 3-8 have been det
ermined.
