Cathodic electrosynthesis of TiO2, ZrO2 and ZrTiO4 deposits on platinu
m substrates was performed via hydrolysis of TiCl4 and ZrOCl2 salts di
ssolved in a mixed methanol-water solvent in presence of hydrogen pero
xide by an electrogenerated base. The deposits were characterized bq,
XRD, TG/DTA, SEM ann EDS. Deposits as obtained were amorphous. The cry
stallization behaviour of the deposits has been studied Crystallite si
zes were derived at different temperatures from X-ray broadening data.
A possible mechanism of electrosynthesis ann the role of hydrogen per
oxide are discussed.
