D. Kicevic et al., A STATISTICAL-ANALYSIS OF THE INFLUENCE OF PROCESSING CONDITIONS ON THE PROPERTIES OF FUSED-SILICA, Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 16(8), 1996, pp. 857-864
In this work the quantitative relations between the properties of sint
ered fused silica (density, mechanical propel-ties, cristobalite conte
nt) and slip preparation parameters as well as sintering conditions (m
illing balls material, temperature and rime of sintering) were establi
shed Multifactorial experimental design ,cas used in ol der to obtain
rite respective mathematical al models. The response surfaces of these
models were analyzed, together with correlations between the compress
ive and tensile strength and cristobalite content. it was established
that the maximum values of mechanical properties for a given material
were obtained with 6-8 vol.% of cristobalite in sintered samples.
