Ma. Bulatov et al., ROLE OF HEAT-TRANSFER SURFACES AT EARLY STAGES OF SCALE FORMATION FROM ELECTROLYTIC SOLUTIONS, Theoretical foundations of chemical engineering, 30(3), 1996, pp. 222-232
A new approach to the theory of salt crystallization on metals in the
presence of heat transfer is developed on the basis of the revealed ef
fect of self-retardation of scale growth at early stages. The rates of
formation of crystallization centers, their growth, and the velocity
of the front of overgrowth of the heat-transfer surface with a primary
layer are determined experimentally.
