Abstract
A problem dealing with sorption of a specific component by a cylindric al particle with regard to internal- and external-diffusion resistance s to mass transfer is solved analytically for the case of a bounded so lution volume. The mathematical model is verified by comparing with ex perimental data on ion exchange of Ca2+ from the Ca(NO3)(2) solution o n a fibrous polycaproamide ion exchanger.
