Abstract
Diastereoisomeric 3-hydroxy 4-phenyl 1H-1,5-benzodiazepin-2-ones (5) u nder bar-(7) under bar have been synthesized by the condensation of o- phenylenediamines (1) under bar-(3) under bar with ethyl-3-phenylglyci date in hot xylene.
