Abstract
An irreducible helicene is a helicene from which no hexagon can be del eted if it shall remain to be a helicene. The generation of irreducibl e helicenes from primitive coronoids is treated, and algebraic express ions are deduced for their numbers. Symmetry plays an important role i n this treatment. Numerical results obtained with the aid of computer programming are reported.
