Abstract
We introduce two a posteriori error estimators for piecewise linear no nconforming finite element approximation of second order, elliptic pro blems. We prove that these estimators are equivalent to the energy nor m of the error. Finally, we present several numerical experiments show ing the good behavior of the estimators when they are used as local er ror indicators for adaptive refinement.
