Abstract
In this work several new finite element methods for solving the three- field Stokes system associated with viscoelastic flow problems in thre e-dimension space are introduced. The methods presented are based on t he standard Galerkin formulation, and complete proofs of first and sec ond order convergence for the corresponding approximations are given f or most of them.
