Abstract
Numerical predictions of cascade flows within an axial turbine stage a re analyzed in this paper. A second-order Reynolds stress turbulence c losure model was employed, which was formulated using the body-fitted curvilinear coordinates. The fractional step method of a finite differ ence scheme was employed for the numerical computations. The computati ons of the pressure, heal transfer, and turbulence stresses are presen ted in both stator and rotor flow regions. Comparisons are made betwee n the Reynolds stress model and the k-epsilon model and demonstrated t he superiority of the Reynolds stress model.
