Abstract
In order to achieve a gearless construction of the wind energy convers ion system (WECS) a low-speed, i.e. multipole, generator is required, This paper examines an axial-field permanent-magnet synchronous wind p ower generator (PMWG) mainly from the magnetic viewpoint, Both mechani cal and electromagnetic designs are described as web as some primary t est results concerning the model generators having nominal power of 5 and 10 kW.
