The older version of the deflection-mode magnetic dry rotating disk se
parator has been improved by integrating a belt which forms a moving b
oundary to outside. The separation process has been considerably simpl
ified, and the product quality has been enhanced with a matching flux
density profile. Forces are basically similar to an isodynamic separat
ion mode. A cost estimation based on permanent magnet excitation shows
an interesting potential of the improved separator.
