S. Kim et al., EXPERIMENT AND NUMERICAL-ANALYSIS OF NORMAL ZONE PROPAGATION PROPERTIES IN AG SHEATHED BI-2223 SUPERCONDUCTING TAPES, IEEE transactions on magnetics, 32(4), 1996, pp. 2822-2825
We measured operating temperature dependence of normal zone propagatio
n velocity in longitudinal direction and thermal property with regard
to Ag sheathed Bi-2223 superconducting single core and multifilamentar
y tapes, Each experiment, with the test sample cooled by a cryocooler,
covers the operating temperature range 10-40K and It/Ic range 0.4 sim
ilar to 0.9 (where It is the transport current and Ic is tile critical
current in each operating temperature, Top). And, we also carried out
numerical analysis by a three-dimensional finite element method in or
der to make dear the mechanism of normal zone propagation in high-temp
erature superconducting (HTS) conductors.
