Abstract
A new excitation method of a piezoelectric actuator using asymmetric i nput voltage waves is proposed. By electrical pulse driving, taking ac count of the vibrational periodic time of a piezoelectric vibrator, an asymmetric vibrational displacement in the time process can be made p ossible that has no accompanying residual vibration in the vibrator. A pplying such an asymmetric vibrational response, it is possible to con struct some actuators. Analysis in the displacement of such an actuato r driven by a rectangular pulse with stepped form, its application to actuators and its experimental results are reported.
