Abstract
The main features of acoustic thermography are considered, and a metho d is proposed for solving a direct problem of acoustothermography in t he one-dimensional case. The main formula of acoustothermography is ve rified for a heated layer and also for the same layer composed from va rious materials with an acoustic mirror placed behind it. The value of T-A is found experimentally to be well described by the proposed equa tion. The role of a scatter process on the formation of the acoustobri ghtness temperature is also investigated.
