Two novel sesquiterpenes of the furanogermacrane type, parvigemone (7)
and neolitrane (8), along with six known compounds, zeylanidine (1),
zeylanicine (2), linderalactone (3), pseudoneolinderane (4), linderane
(5), and deacetylzeylanidine (6), have been isolated from the stems o
f Neolitsea parvigemma. The structures of these compounds were elucida
ted on the basis of spectroscopic techniques, and the structure of com
pound 8 was confirmed by X-ray crystallographic analysis.
