Burns caused by prolonged contact of wet cement with skin are common i
n this country. Recent literature has highlighted other ways in which
the use and manufacture of cement can lead to burn injuries, notably t
hrough explosion and contact with hot powder during manufacturing. The
se injuries are uncommon in this country and potentially very serious.
Case studies are presented of two men injured in such a way in the sa
