Reproductive traits of Triops granarius females were examined. Fertili
zation by males was a prerequisite for oviposition. Clutch size ranged
from 1 to 154, and clutch frequency (per 24 hours) from 1 to 9. Clutc
h size generally increased with increasing body size and increasing ag
e. Total reproductive output was dependent upon life span, and estimat
ed at around 200 eggs for a life span of 25 days. Clutch data indicate
that T. granarius may have r-selected traits.
