Abstract
Contamination limits of trace elements derived for soils in the Czech Republic concern only Ap horizons (and their analogies) of soils' lack ing extreme trace elements concentrations. An attempt has been made to differentiate the anthropogenic and geogenic loads in the North- and West North-Bohemian regions, where their coincidence occurs. The solut ion is based on the comparison of profile trace elements distribution, parent materials occurrence and immissions isolines. Whereas the prob lem is simple in case of mafic rocks, it is complicated in metallogeni c zones of acid igneous and metamorphic rocks. The results are display ed in three figures. Based an this experience the ratio of geogenic an d anthropogenic loads for immission - free and severe immission - impa cted regions has been estimated. The uptake of trace elements from geo genic loads by plants is very limited.
