Abstract
The grain size fraction less than 63 mu m is an important environmenta l factor affecting the distribution and abundance of many of the tubif icid species of Lake Constance. In substrates with a heterogeneous gra in size where tubificids can be selective many species occur almost ex clusively in their particle size preference range, which is highly spe cies specific.
