The programme is divided into t wo phases: for the first three month phase, the trainee attends the Tr usts' International Training Programme at JWPT; for the second phase o n Mauritius, the trainee gains six to seven months of practical in-sit u experience of the Trusts' conservation activities in that country, T he programme has been successful in attracting good applicants, contri buting to the scientific knowledge base, providing assistance to the M auritius projects as well as attracting funding and publicity in Canad a for WPTC.
