SYNTHESIS AND STRUCTURE OF COMPLEX E(ETA( 5)-ME(3)SIC(5)H(3))(2)[FE(CO)](2)(MU-CO)(2)

Complexes E (eta(5)-Me(3)SiC(5)H(3))(2) [Fe(CO)](2) (mu-CO)(2) [E = Me (2)Si(1), Me(2)SiOSiMe(2) (2)] were obtained by reaction of bridged co mpounds E (Me(3)SiC(5)H(4))(2) [E = Me(2)Si (I), Me(2)SiOSiMe(2) (II)] with Fe(CO)(5) in refluxing xylene. Compounds 1, 2 were revealed to b e cis-isomers by H-1 NMR Spectra and X-ray diffraction analysis. Exten sive desilylation observed, Crystals of 1 and 2 are monoclinic, belong ing to space-group P2(1)/m. 1: a = 0.735 9(3) nm, b = 1.940 9(1) nm, c = 0.938 3(5) nm, beta = 99.71(4)degrees, V = 1.320 10(1) nm(3), Z = 2 , D-c = 1.394 g/mL; 2: a = 0.674 3(5) nm, b = 2.263 5(5) nm, c = 1.080 2(1) nm, beta = 108.1 (2)degrees, V = 1.566 8(2) nm(3), Z = 2, D-c = 1.493 g/mL.
