Abstract
This retrospective descriptive study was performed on 48 patients with IDDS (AIDS = 21, neoplasia = 27). A rate of 39.6 % of infections on I DDS was found, with a high incidence of coagulase (-) Staphylococci in both groups. The ratio infection/infected patients was equal to 1.73 for all patient, but higher in the AIDS group (equal to 2.2) Polymicro bial infections on IDDS all occured in this group. Incidence density, delay of onset of infection, number oi manipulations-days are signific antly higher in the AIDS group than in the non AIDS group.
