Abstract
A model describing forward and backward counter-propagating laser and second harmonic waves inside a non-linear laser crystal is used to cal culate the output green power obtained from NYAB and LiNbO3:MgO:Nd3+ s elf-doubling lasers. The model includes end-pumping and reabsorption o f the second harmonic waves by the Nd3+ ions. The model is first adjus ted to fit experimental data from the literature and give predictions concerning the comparison between the crystals and the influence of so me cavity parameters.
