Abstract
Starting from experimental results and contemporary theories of biocat alysis, stereochemistry of aspartic protease functioning was discussed , a general theory of biocatalysis was suggested, which is based on th e structural and functional organization of enzyme and substrate molec ules and allow a quantitative description of a catalytic act as a cont inuous, spontaneous, and self-controlled process.
