Abstract
Urethral diverticula are not uncommon in paraplegic patients, who are prone to developing this disorder on an acquired basis because of prol onged catheterization. The authors describe one such patient with a sm all incontinent spastic bladder in whom progressively enlarging anteri or and posterior urethral diverticula developed. The much larger anter ior diverticulum manifested as a large scrotal tracer collection on re nal scintigraphy with Tc-99m DTPA, a heretofore unreported finding. Be cause tracer extravasation or bladder herniation could produce a simil ar appearance, knowledge of the patient's history and anatomy was Impo rtant in correctly interpreting the finding.
