Iv. Storozhenko et al., THE REACTION OF HUMAN GASTRIC-CANCER TRAN SPLANTANTS TO CYTOSTATICS DURING THEIR GROWTH UNDER THE RENAL CAPSULE OF MICE, Eksperimental'naa onkologia, 18(2), 1996, pp. 166-169
By means of subrenal capsule assay (SCA) the reaction to cytostatics o
f 52 gastric cancer specimens (33 - adenocarcinomas, 10 - ring-shaped
cells cancer, 9 - mixed form of cancer) were investigated. The carcino
mas of stomach grow comparatively slow under the renal capsule of the
immunodepressed mice. This is an obstacle for the investigation of dru
g sensitivity for at least 40% of them. The average effect of cytostat
ics was about 80.0- 90.0% of inhibition of the tumor growth. Only the
effect of 5-fluorouracil was 2.0-2.7% of regression of transplants. Th
e received data agree with the clinical observations and show the expe
diency of using of SCA at least for the identification of cases of ind
ividual drug resistance of human gastric carcinomas.
