By. Ryzhavsky et al., MORPHOLOGICAL PECULIARITIES OF THE BONE-M ARROW BLASTS AND THE OUTCOME OF TREATMENT OF CHILDREN WITH ACUTE LYMPHOBLASTIC-LEUKEMIA, Eksperimental'naa onkologia, 18(2), 1996, pp. 185-187
There has been found that in the children whose treatment was ineffect
ive and had fatal outcome, the mean diameter of bone marrow blasts was
12.7 +/- 0.5 mu m. In these children the treatment of which led to a
steady remission, the mean diameter of bone marrow blast cells was 9.0
+/- 0.4 mu m. The blasts of children from the first group had micro-p
rocessings of cytolemma. The above mentioned differences in the peculi
arities of bone marrow blasts are assumed to be helpful for the progno
sis of the treatment of this disease.
