S. Hasegawa et M. Tamada, A STUDY ON HADRON INTERACTIONS THROUGH OBSERVATION OF COSMIC-RAY FAMILIES OF VISIBLE ENERGY GREATER-THAN 500 TEV IN HIGH-MOUNTAIN EMULSION CHAMBERS, Nuclear physics. B, 474(1), 1996, pp. 141-182
The characteristics of hadron interactions are studied with emulsion c
hambers exposed at both Mt. Chacaltaya and the Pamirs. The total expos
ure is approximate to 1330 m(2) year. Event by event surveys on the sh
ower configurations in a single family event were accomplished over th
e 75 cosmic-ray families in the highest energy range, i.e., visible en
ergy greater than 500 TeV. Extraordinary characteristics of high energ
y shower clusters of small spread and the exotic type interactions, Ce
ntauro species, are discussed from the cosmic-ray-family phenomenologi
cal point of view.
