Abstract
The structure of the title compound, [PtI2(C3H10N2)(2)]-I-2.2H(2)O, co nsists of six-coordinate monomeric [Pt-(diamine)(2)I-2](2+) cations, I - anions and water molecules. Pt has tetragonal bipyramidal coordinati on geometry. Linear I ... I-Pt-I ... I units are arranged in the direc tion of the b axis.
