Abstract
1-Pentene is generated by decomposition of omega-6 unsaturated fatty a cid hydroperoxides. It is transformed under physiological conditions i n presence of plant or mammalian liver enzymes to 1-pentene epoxide wh ich can be trapped by reaction with thiophenol. The reaction products were identified by comparing their mass spectra with those of authenti c material.
