Bulk glass of composition Se70Te28Cd, was prepared by the melt quenchi
ng technique. Differential Scanning Calorimetry were performed under i
sothermal conditions and the results have been analysed using the tran
sformation kinetics theory developed by Johnson-Mehl and Avrami. The r
esults indicate that the crystallization process is a three dimensiona
l growth process. The calculated value of the effective activation ene
rgy, E(G), for crystal growth was 173 +/- 0.5 kJ/mol for this glass.
